Abstract

With the advent of the big data era, the field of geographic information systems (GIS) has ushered in new opportunities and challenges. An intelligent GIS framework should be built to match the characteristics of big data, covering the collection of diverse geographic information, storage of large-scale geographic data, data preprocessing, supply of service ports following common protocols, and development of customized application software for various industries. Research has shown that big data and GIS technology can enhance the processing speed of geographic information and the efficiency of information services, promote the in-depth application of GIS in smart city construction, disaster warning, and resource optimization, and contribute to the sustainable and balanced development of the social economy.
